In addition, from the perspective of Buddhism as the foundational core of meditation, he will explore meditation as a process of developing wisdom that begins with training to control the mind and improve concentration before going on to discuss the ultimate goal of meditation. |
Executive Chief Ven. Jinwoo | 10:40 ~ 11:30 (50minutes) | "The Role of Zen and Meditation in Modern Society" A discussion of the history of Zen Buddhism in Korea, the koan tradition, and the meaning and value of Zen Buddhism. Plus, an examination of the achievements and influence of Zen Master Ven. Seungsahn—who realized his true self (bulseong) and spread the koan tradition globally—in order to discuss daily routines that allow us to live a life of wisdom. |
